Camp Of Champions
2008
I had a great time designing the brochure and ads for the Camp of Champions in 2008. We were going for a highly textured organic look with lots of color. Final product was a 36 page brochure with a gatefold in the middle. Big thanks to Ken for the opportunity to work with him and his crew for the last 5 years. It’s been a pleasure to see Camp evolve so nicely.

2007
Here are some pages from the 2007 Camp Of Champions brochure. I used a lot of juicy color overlays on top of the original photos, giving them a more surreal feel. This lent to the dream-like look that I wanted to achieve. For most kids, it’s a dream come true when they arrive at camp to ride with the top pro snowboarders, skiers, and mountain bikers in the world.

2006
Here is a selection of images from the Camp of Champions campaign I designed in 2006. Ken and I thought it would be cool to make a custom camouflage pattern from the firebird logo. It ended up setting the tone for the whole campaign. I used army green duotone images and gritty typography to add to the camo feel.

2005
One day while shredding at the Camp Of Champions on the Whistler Glacier in 2004, I took a notice to how beautifully the summer clouds were randomly dispersing themselves throughout the endless blue sky. The patterns they created and the negative/positive space they formed were effortlessly perfect. I immediately snapped countless photos of what I knew would play an integral role in how I designed the 2005 campaign. I started playing with how these cloud photos could overlay on top of other graphics and photos, and quickly got some interesting results, as you can see in some of the brochure images here. Also, for more “cloudy colorfulness”, check out the website I designed in the MISC section.
